The "Make It Happen" campaign encouraged students to pursue their dreams, no matter their background. It highlighted flexible learning, affordability, and career growth — emphasizing that higher education belongs to everyone, because the future does, too.
As the campaign’s copywriter from the start, I shaped its voice, tone, and style to resonate with students' values and goals. Research and data guided my approach, ensuring the copy was relatable, authentic, and empathetic. Collaborating closely with others on the creative team, I helped build narratives and visuals that made the message personal and impactful.
Script: Want to get into college regardless of your bank balance or test scores? Want your high school diploma or GED to get you in? Want to learn only what you want to learn, and then get on with your life? Want free tutoring and free rides to class along the way? Make it happen at Valencia College.
Script: You want to go back to school? Finish what you started? Get the degree you've always wanted? The life you've always imagined? That diploma on your wall. Certification under your belt. You want to get the respect you deserve and the paycheck that comes with it? Make it happen at Valencia College.
After talking with students and learning more about their mindset — their challenges, dreams, and motivations — I was able to develop copy that spoke directly to their experiences. Whether I was writing for digital ads, social media, website content, or TV/radio scripts, I wanted to connect with students and encourage them to make it happen.
